Jake Gaule

Composer and Sound Designer

Jake Gaule is a freelance Composer and Sound Designer. He studied Professional Musicianship (Guitar) at BIMM Institute Bristol.

Jake has achieved a lot since graduating in 2014. After his degree, he studied an MA in Sound Design. During that time, he worked as Foley Recordist and Sound Editor at Doghouse Post-Production in Clifton. He is currently working in podcasting and games.

His recent roles include Composer for educational children’s game ‘Erase All Kittens’. He also won two awards for his sound design work on the 2019 short film Window, directed by Adam Bastin.

In the future, Jake hopes to find more composition and sound design work in games. He’s particularly interested in developing his technical sound design skills and exploring VR. spatialised audio and dynamic/interactive music systems.

“BIMM helped prepare me by making me understand just how vast and numerous the ways are that you can make money as a musician/composer,” he says. “I’m really happy that I’ve found my way through luck and hard work into Game Audio.”
