Aimie Mallon – LE BOOM
They have made an incredible impact throughout their native Ireland as well as beyond
into clubs, live music venues, and festivals throughout the UK, Europe, and the US on tour.
Since their humble beginnings in 2016, Dublin-based electronic indie-house duo LE BOOM has forged a reputation as one of the most infectiously energetic live acts this side of the Atlantic. In their relatively short time together, the pair have amassed a succession of impressive DIY single releases, each of which have progressed from bedroom jams to underground hits.
The pair carved their niche within the city’s rich live music scene, attracting high praise from tastemakers and critics such as PopMatters, EARMILK, The Sunday Times, Nialler9, Highsnobiety, and State Magazine, who once described the duo as “Possibly the best live electronic act to come out of Ireland.”
To-date, LE BOOM has racked up over two million online streams, over 125,000 YouTube views and has received avid support from Irish and US radio broadcasters. Their music has been included on Spotify’s New Music Friday, Hot New Bands, and New Pop Revolution playlists. It has also been featured in televised syncs for Vodafone, St Patrick’s Festival, Absolut Vodka, Made in Chelsea, and Fáilte Ireland. All incredible feats for an unsigned act!
Previous appearances at Primavera, Longitude, Body & Soul, and Electric Picnic have helped to cement this, along with a show-stopping performance at Brighton’s Great Escape Festival 2019 as part of BIMM’s official showcase.
The pair boast festival appearances all over the world. Most recently, Sea Sessions Surf & Music Festival where they performed on a bill alongside Sigrid, Clean Bandit and Dermot Kennedy. Not to mention shows at YNOT, Galway International Arts Festival where they supported the Coronas, and Indiependence Festival alongside Bastille, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Biffy Clyro, Nothing But Thieves, and Lewis Capaldi.
Johnny Boyle, Head of Drums at BIMM Dublin, remembers Aimie’s time at the college well.
“Aimie made an incredible impression from day one at BIMM. She embodies one of the most important traits in being a successful musician, and that’s enthusiasm. She has an incredible amount of positive energy, which contributed to a great atmosphere in classes.”
Mallon reflected on her time at the college, saying: “BIMM has helped me in every area of my professional life; Performance, creativity, helping me find my original sound on the kit, knowledge, know-how in the music business, publishing, studio recording, music theory, composition and connections, connections, connections!”
We’re incredibly proud of all that BIMM graduate Aimie has achieved with LE BOOM and wish her and her bandmate Christie the very best of luck. We can’t wait to hear what’s next for the incredibly dynamic duo.
