What’s a BIMM School Tour?
A school tour is an interactive experience featuring talks and live music from BIMM graduates or students. Throughout the year, we visit schools and colleges to talk to students about careers in the music industry and the BIMM music diplomas and degrees available to study.
Our talks and workshops could include:
- A workshop on careers in event management
- A masterclass on mixing
- A live performance workshop
- Advice on achieving studio-quality sound
- Songwriting/lyric workshop
Please find a selection of our current workshops below. If you are interested, please fill in the form below or email [email protected] to discuss what would be best for your students.
As part of our School Tours, we provide various workshops and talks to give students all the necessary information to make an informed decision about their futures.
We aim all workshops at students aged 16-18 interested in a career in the creative industries. You can decide which talks and workshops you would like us to run on the day. We run these live and exclusively for your students at a date and time of your choice.
Our talks and workshops include:
Careers in the creative industries
This presentation details the various opportunities and career pathways available in the creative industries and how they work together. There’s also a Q&A session and an exclusive live performance from a BIMM artist.
Event management talks
Students will get the chance to meet industry professionals who currently work at some of the UK’s biggest festivals and in other behind-the-scenes areas. This talk gives students the chance to explore the potential careers they may not have ever known existed.
For this workshop, we walk through a song and look at the different skills a songwriter can use to create a quality piece of music. This includes everything from composition to lyric crafting. A live Q&A will follow the workshop.
From the studio to the stage
This masterclass shows your students how to mix and master while performing live. This allows them to take control over their own audio effects to achieve a studio-quality performance.
We can also host a range of music production workshops, such as:
- Creating hooks with samples
- Found sounds
- Mixing in the box
If a school tour or workshop isn’t for you, why not invite us along to your local careers fair? Our team is available to attend exhibitions, careers fairs and deliver exclusive talks.
