Adam Pavlovčin (ADONXS)

Artist

Adam Pavlovčin, has won SuperStar, the joint Czech-Slovak version of Pop Idol, along with €75,000.

Born in Slovakia, BIMM Music Institute London graduate Adam Pavlovčin is a singer-songwriter, dancer, model, and lead singer of PACE. Adam is the first openly queer winner of the joint singing contest and has described his victory as a “huge step forward” for the Slovak society where same-sex marriage is still not recognised by the government. His often gender non-conforming outfits stirred controversy throughout the competition, to which Adam responded: “Clothes don’t have a gender.” Amazing stuff.

Adam owned the stage with some amazing renditions of songs throughout the competition, including ‘Skin’ by Rag’n’Bone Man, ‘Hallelujah’ by Leonard Cohen, ‘Physical’ by Dua Lipa, and ‘Another Love’ and ‘Hold Back the River’ by BIMM Music Institute Alumni Tom Odell and James Bay, respectively.

Adam, who has been singing since an early age, was trained by reputable opera singer Hana Peckova. After moving to England to study songwriting and creative musicianship with us in London he continued to perform with his band, PACE.

BIMM Music Institute London College Principal Simon Colam added: “Huge congratulations to Adam with his success on SuperStar. We have wonderful memories of Adam’s performances in BIMM Showcases during his time as a student, and we are proud and delighted to see his career develop internationally through his outstanding songs and performances.”

We’re really proud of Adam, especially to hear his new album, which is due to come out this year!
