Ed Drewett Nominated for Best 'British Single'

Alumni Success

BIMM London Songwriting alumnus Ed co-wrote Little Mix’s single ‘Black Magic’ which was up for the ‘British Single’ award at The BRITs.

The song, which spent three weeks at No. 1 in the UK singles chart, was also up for a second award on the night in the form of ‘British Artist Video’. Although the track was pipped to the post by Adele with her song ‘Hello’, and One Direction for the video of ‘Drag Me Down’, Ed’s single was performed live by Little Mix:

But it wasn’t the first time one of Ed’s songs has been nominated for a BRIT – he was up for The Wanted’s ‘Glad You Came’ in 2012 and Olly Murs’ ‘Dear Darlin’’ in 2014.

Since 2008, Ed has been responsible for a long list of massive Top 40 hits for artists, incuding ‘Best Song Ever’ and ‘Steal My Girl’ for One Direction; the No. 1 smash hit ‘All Time Low’ for The Wanted, plus their track ‘Lightning’; and as a featured artist he collaborated with Professor Green on the No. 3 hit ‘I Need You Tonight’.
