BIMM launches Honorary Awards Scheme in 2022

10 February, 2022

We are delighted to announce the launch of our Honorary Awards Scheme, an exciting moment for BIMM Institute – coming during the year of BIMM Brighton’s 20th Anniversary. It’s a chance for our community of students, staff and lecturers to recognise outstanding contributions to the creative industries and the education sector across music, performing arts, and screen and film.

We will award honorary degrees and fellowships to those who have achieved amazing things or held significant leadership roles in the areas that are shared with BIMM Institute, Screen and Film School, Performers College and Institute of Contemporary Theatre. We hope that whoever is awarded our honorary degrees can be role models for our students.

Students and staff can submit nominations to the Honorary Award Committee, chaired by the Academic Director & Provost, Professor Louise Jackson, by 15 May 2022 via our dedicated webpage. Nominees will need to be external to BIMM Institute (not currently employed or studying by BIMM Institute), but they may be former employees or alumni, they may also have a local connection with one of our established colleges.

Academic Director & Provost, Professor Louise Jackson added:

“I am very excited to be launching this new Honorary Awards Scheme for BIMM Institute. It is a chance for us to recognise the wonderful work of creative practitioners of all kinds including musicians, artists, producers, dancers, actors, industry leaders and educators, and to say thank you for continuing to develop our industry.”
