BIMM Music Institute Honorary Awards Scheme

We’re delighted to announce the launch of our Honorary Awards Scheme. With these awards, we will recognise outstanding contributions that individuals have made to the creative industries and education within this sector.

Both honorary degrees and fellowships will be conferred through the scheme. Honorary degrees will be awarded to those who can demonstrate an excellent body of work or have held significant leadership roles in areas related to BIMM Music Institute and its constituent colleges. Fellowships will go to those whose incredible output or actions have furthered the work or interests of BIMM Music Institute.

Nominations can be made by current students and staff, with the Honorary Award Committee being chaired by the Academic Director & Provost, Professor Louise Jackson. All nominees must be external to BIMM Music Institute (not currently employed by or studying at BIMM Music Institute) but they may be former employees or alumni.

Nominations will be considered by the Honorary Awards Committee at its inaugural meeting in summer 2022 and annually thereafter. 2022 also marks the 20th anniversary of the opening of BIMM in Brighton. It’s therefore all the more fitting that this year sees the start of many great developments at BIMM Music Institute.

A full list of honorands will be maintained on the Institute’s website.

Any queries about the process should be directed to [email protected].
