BIMM Birmingham graduate James Attwood has a new Zo Lief EP mastered at Abbey Road Studios
BIMM Birmingham graduate and Tony Iommi Scholarship winner James Attwood is celebrating the release of a new EP with Zo Lief, mastered at the legendary Abbey Road Studios.
The opportunity came after Zo Lief won the Record Store Day UK Unsigned competition, earning the duo the chance to have their new release mastered at one of the world’s most famous recording studios.
James was the first-ever recipient of the Tony Iommi Scholarship at BIMM Birmingham in 2017, receiving the award from the Black Sabbath guitarist himself at the official opening of BIMM Birmingham.
James is one half of Zo Lief alongside vocalist and guitarist Laura Chen. The duo’s second EP, Hypnosis, helped them stand out from hundreds of entries in the Record Store Day UK Unsigned competition, with judges praising their distinctive sound and live presence.
Winning the competition allowed Zo Lief to master the EP at Abbey Road Studios and have 500 copies pressed on vinyl.
All of us at BIMM are proud to celebrate James’ continued journey and look forward to seeing what comes next for Zo Lief.
Zo Lief’s new EP is out now. You can order a copy on vinyl here or listen on Spotify here
