Scholarships and bursaries
BIMM Institute is dedicated to helping students develop their skills, talents and self-confidence while gaining a nationally recognised Further or Higher Education qualification.
Every academic year, we’re able to offer a limited number of scholarships and bursaries to talented and dedicated applicants and students who are in financial hardship.
UK Black, Asian and ethnically diverse creatives, producers and entrepreneurs are currently under-represented in the London music sector (UK Music Diversity Report 2022) and in academic professional posts. BIMM Institute London is committed to widening participation and encouraging diversity in its student body and to nurture the next generation of creatives and academics.
BIMM Institute London offers scholarships to Black, Asian and ethnically diverse applicants who are currently underrepresented within our student body. The undergraduate degree scholarships will be awarded on merit and to applicants from low-income households (below £25,000) providing tuition fee support during the length of study.
Scholarship applicants are required to submit a portfolio to evidence their ability within a chosen subject specialism. The portfolio will be evaluated by a panel including three members of the BIMM academic faculty and an external industry professional. The panel will be chaired by the College Principal. The decision of the panel is final.
The application deadline is 10:00 Monday 10 July 2023
The scholarships will be announced on Friday 28 July 2023
Three scholarships are available for single or joint honours UK national degree applicants from a Black, Asian or ethnically diverse background. The scholarships are worth up to the value of £9,250 for each year of the course to cover tuition fees. Students can also apply to the BIMM Institute Fair Access Fund for further support.
