BIMM alumna and BBC Music Sound of 2016 winner, Izzy Bizu has taken to Twitter to announce her involvement with the 10th anniversary of Record Store Day.
The highly-anticipated event – a celebration of independent music and vinyl – takes place on Saturday 22 April and we can’t wait to get our hands on some of the most sought-after releases from music’s biggest names, including David Bowie and Iggy Pop, as well as BIMM alumni, Cabbage and Fickle Friends.
Izzy, who shot to fame last year with her track ‘White Tiger’, is just one of the many artists championing the tenth ever Record Store Day and has also teased a very special release. Izzy will be dropping a limited number of signed 7-inch records with songs from her spectacular debut album, as well as a very special surprise. Making the announcement on social media, Izzy said:
“I’m really excited to be a champion of Record Store Day. I’m actually signing all my records. I’ve got ‘Talking to You’ and ‘Sweet Like Honey’ on there, and a surprise that you don’t know about yet.”
Naturally, we’re just as eager as her army of loyal fans to see what the former BIMM London songstress has in store – we’ve no doubt it will be worth the wait.
Izzy’s star continues to shine brightly, and we’re tipping her for another ground-breaking year, following her dream 2016. Indeed, our very own BRIT-nominated star has also been hand-picked to support Coldplay on their 2017 tour of America.
As a time-served champion of new and unsigned talent, we’re delighted that Record Store Day is due to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Even better is the news that one of our most promising BIMM stars will be leading the charge along with a host of prominent artists come Saturday 22 April.
