BIMM Music Institute London alumnus, Josie Man, is a British singer-songwriter born in Orpington, to her father from Hong Kong and her mother from South London. She grew up around both her English and Cantonese-speaking families which has influenced her sound, along with her parents’ taste in music, including The BeeGees, Marvin Gaye, and Fleetwood Mac.

Man started writing short songs on her guitar when she was 14 and eventually, her music started receiving notice from the industry. She was signed by Columbia Records in October 2019.

Calling her sound ‘identity pop’ she released her debut EP, aLOVINGboothang, on February 14, 2020, which included the single Colours, which has almost two million plays on Spotify. Colours premiered in Wonderland Magazine on November 6, 2019.

Her next single, Just Me was named BBC Introducing Track of the Week and was subsequently remixed by Dutch producer Jarreau Vandal.

2021 has seen Man continue to release some of her recognisable ‘Identity Pop’ sound with singles, Little Space for Me, One of Those Days and Cuts & Bruises and she now boasts an incredible 230,000 monthly listeners.
