BIMM named in Billboard’s Top Music Business Schools for fifth consecutive year

9 October, 2026

BIMM Music Institute has been recognised by Billboard Magazine as one of the world’s leading music business schools, marking our fifth consecutive year on the list.

Billboard’s annual Top Music Business Schools list celebrates institutions preparing students for careers in the music industry. This year’s edition sees BIMM featured alongside internationally recognised names including Berklee College of Music, New York University, and Belmont University.

The list draws on industry recommendations, alumni achievements, information provided by institutions, and Billboard’s extensive reporting on music education.

For BIMM, a big part of preparing students for the music industry is giving them the chance to experience it firsthand.

Our music business courses combine specialist teaching with practical experience, connecting students with working professionals through live industry briefs, placements, masterclasses, and opportunities at major music events.

This approach was highlighted in Billboard’s 2026 feature, which referenced a masterclass from Glastonbury Festival’s Head of Productions, Emma Reynolds-Taylor. The session led to BIMM Brighton Alumna, Imi Wright, securing a month-long paid position in the festival’s Pyramid Stage production office, while a further 16 students supported teams working across stage and hospitality operations.

Billboard also recognised the achievements of BIMM alumni, including James Meadows, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Chrysalis Records and Blue Raincoat Music, and Bex Redwood, who co-runs Republic of Music’s artist management division.

Now in our fifth consecutive year on the list, the recognition is a welcome acknowledgement of the work happening across BIMM and the industry opportunities available to our students.

We’re proud to be recognised again and look forward to seeing where the next generation of BIMM music business graduates takes their careers.
