BIMM London Album Completes Trilogy
Hot on the heels of the BIMM Brighton & Bristol Album and the BIMM Dublin & Manchester Album, comes the eagerly-awaited BIMM London Album – 21 original songs from BIMM London students, completing the trilogy of original BIMM music releases for 2015.
As with its sister releases, the musical standard for submissions to the BIMM London Album call out was exceptionally high. BIMM London students were invited to submit their best compositions to an open Soundcloud page for consideration. From there the judges took on the tricky but enjoyable task of selecting the final tracklist.
The lucky judges included Michelle Humphreys (Events, Guests and Artist Development Manager), Simon Colam (Head of Education) and Julia Ruzika (College Manager) alongside other BIMM London lecturers. To help the panel make their decision, a number of music industry specialists were also asked to vote for their top 10 tracks. Tony Wadsworth, the former Chairman of the BPI and BRIT Awards Limited, chose the lead single for the album from the final 21 songs:
“I thought the standard was very high, and it wasn’t an easy choice. There are some really nice arrangements, it’s all well produced, the vocals are strong throughout. But the one that got most ticks in the box was ‘Long, Long Gone’ by Frida Wallin.”
