BIMM Institute Berlin and East Side Music Days go digital
With Berlin’s street music festival East Side Music Days not being able to take place as usual this year, Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) created an alternative solution to showcase talented newcomers online: The East Side Music Sessions.
Every Tuesday for five weeks, a set from one of BIMM’s up-and-coming bands and artists will be released online. The performances were recorded live and shot in Berlin’s Verti Music Hall, known as the ‘little sister’ of the Mercedes-Benz Arena. BIMM Berlin’s The Flavians performed at the opening of East Side Music Sessions on the 16th of June, with four more BIMM acts to follow.
Dirk Dreyer, General Manager of the Verti Music Hall, says:
“We at AEG are very pleased to be able to continue to promote young talent and offer them a suitable platform. Music is something that connects us all and that’s what we want to achieve with the East Side Music Sessions, even in such difficult times.”
Here at BIMM Institute Berlin, we’re proud to support the East Side Music Sessions and offer our students another great opportunity to showcase their music to a wider audience.
Sky Deep, our Live Sound and Performance lecturer, says: “It’s great that in AEG we have a partner who wants to promote young talent as much as we do. We are thrilled by the skill and professionalism of each and every act and hope that the audience will like it as much as we do.”
Each set can be found under the ‘East Side Music Sessions 2020’ playlist on East Side Music Day’s YouTube channel.
