BIMM at LoveBN1 Fest ’19
A selection of BIMM students will soon perform and work behind the scenes at LoveBN1 Fest – a live music extravaganza set within one of the UK’s biggest annual festival events – Brighton & Hove Pride.
As part of BIMM’s ongoing festival outreach programme, performance students and alumni will take to the stage in Brighton’s Preston Park for an event that sees artists and audiences continuing the Pride festivities on Sunday August 4th – one day after headline act and LGBTQ+ icon Kylie Minogue dazzles audiences on the main stage.
Live performances
Student and alumni artists performing on BIMM’s stage at LoveBN1 Fest this year include:
Eve Singleton – 4.15pm
Karim – 4.45pm
James Byron – 5.15pm
PACE – 5.45pm
Kingsy – 6.15pm
Georgie Femme – 6.45pm
Susan – 7.15pm
Arion Haze – 7.45pm
Non-performance roles
On Saturday August 3rd, Music Business and Event Management students will also be at Pride assisting in volunteer roles during one of the celebration’s main attractions; the Carnival Of Diversity. Afterward, they’ll head to the main arena at Preston Park to assist with BIMM’s stage directly on the Sunday.
These work experience opportunities offer the chance for BIMM students to gain valuable insider knowledge on how large scale events such as Pride are organised and carried out. They can even result in further paid positions – as was the case with recent Event Management success story Charlie Lowe, who now works as the Social Media Manager for the event.
Brighton and Hove Pride weekend is widely recognised as the biggest Pride event in the UK, bringing an expected 300,000 revellers to the city streets each year with a collective mindset of solidarity, tolerance, equality, open mindedness and acceptance for members of the LGBTQ+ community and beyond.
BIMM are incredibly proud to align ourselves with as important and far-reaching an event as Pride and look forward to another fantastic celebration of unity at the home of our longest serving campus.
