Tom Page

Drums Lecturer

Tom is a musician from North East London who began playing drums when he was 18. He started to hone his craft through a combination of private lessons, self study and college, gaining a Foundation Certificate In Contemporary Music and later a Music Educator's Diploma at the British Academy of New Music in East London. Tom's musical tastes run far and wide, and come across in his playing. He's performed and/or recorded with Four Tet, James Holden, Peter Bjorn and John, The Memory Band and Rothko, to name just a few. He has a wealth of experience as a live and studio musician, touring the world playing iconic venues such as the Hollywood Bowl, Sydney Opera House, Glastonbury Festival and the Barbican.

His own band, RocketNumberNine – an instrumental blend of drums, synths and electronic percussion – most recently co-wrote and recorded the music on the Neneh Cherry album 'Blank Project', which they continue to tour. Other career highlights have included a TV appearance on 'Later... with Jools Holland', various radio sessions for BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 4, BBC 6 Music and XFM, supporting Radiohead, and touring in the support act slot with supergroup Atoms For Peace on their North American tour. Tom has been involved in music education since 2003, teaching private and group lessons, and providing workshops to schools. He looks forward to welcoming you to BIMM Berlin.
