22 Apr 2021

Hosted by Aaron Casey, Head of Music Business at BIMM Institute Dublin, this webinar will inform you of how studying the BA (Hons) Music Business will set you up for a career in any number of areas within the industry. We’ve mapped out several pathways for students so that those who want to work on DIY releases, artist management, the live side of the industry, music publishing, sync, record label management, or social media marketing can choose modules that will help them become specialists.

This webinar will discuss how we can work with you as an individual to empower, connect and guide you to a sustainable career whether as an employee or as an entrepreneur. The music industry is based on knowledge and relationships and studying at BIMM can provide students opportunities to engage with industry on a regular basis. The BA (Hons) Music Business provides students with the opportunity to study how the sector operates as part of the wider creative economy mixing the core concepts of business management, sales, finance, marketing and strategy through the lens of music. Our courses are designed with direct industry input which allows us to shape and serve our offerings to best deliver professionals into the workforce.

In this webinar they discuss the following questions:

  • What can I do with a music business degree from BIMM?
  • Will an employer want to hire me with this qualification?
  • How often do I get to engage with the industry as part of my studies?

Aaron Casey’s background lies in academia as well as working within music. Previously Senior International Executive at IMRO (Irish Music Rights Organisation) he is a music rights and royalties consultant who works with artists, labels, songwriters and publishers to ensure they are collecting all relevant income outside of his work with BIMM. He is also a Director on the Board of Tailwind Music Trading, an advisory firm focusing on music and media royalties.
