Professional Beat Making and Production is an intensive two-week course tailored for aspiring electronic music producers and beatmakers eager to elevate their skills to professional standards.

Combining hands-on training, creative workshops, and valuable industry insights, students will refine their beat-making techniques, develop a distinctive sonic identity, and produce a polished, production-ready track.

Whether you’re a hobbyist or an emerging artist, this course is designed to help you enhance your craft, master essential production tools, and confidently navigate the professional music industry.

This course offers students the chance to work with industry professionals to understand the technical and creative aspects of modern beatmaking. Students will develop a deep understanding of essential music production techniques, from sample manipulation to mixing and arranging tracks for release.

Beatmaking Fundamentals

In these sessions, you will learn to create dynamic, impactful beats by exploring sample manipulation, beat programming, and bass design. You’ll experiment with modern tools and techniques, including DAWs, plugins, and hardware used by top producers. By the end of this module, you will have a groove or loop ready for further development.

Arranging for Impact

These sessions will cover the essential techniques for transforming loops into full tracks. You will learn to use automation, builds, and drops to craft compelling arrangements. You’ll explore how to structure your tracks for engagement while maintaining energy and flow throughout.

Sound Design and Mixing

During these sessions, you will dive into sound design, learning how to customise presets and create ear-catching elements that define your sound. Additionally, you’ll gain valuable mixing skills to balance and enhance your tracks with EQ, compression, and effects.

Professional Workflows

You will explore real-world production environments, learning about file organisation, session preparation, and revision processes used by industry professionals. You will understand how to streamline your workflow to maintain efficiency and consistency throughout the production process.

Industry Presentation and Networking

In these sessions, you will learn how to present your work professionally and effectively pitch your music to labels. You’ll also have the opportunity to present your track to a panel of industry professionals for feedback and potential connections, gaining valuable insights into the business side of music production.

Collaborative Feedback and Revision

You will participate in a collaborative review session, where you’ll receive actionable feedback from peers and instructors to refine your track. This hands-on feedback process will help you refine your skills and produce a high-quality, finished track ready for release or pitching.

Entry requirements

Minimum Age: 18 at the start of the course.

This course is open enrolment and there are no entry requirements.

In order to get the most out of the course, you should be able to both speak and write in English to a reasonable standard.

Please be aware that we have a limited number of places available for each course intake and operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
