Students join Sony and Abbey Road for exclusive writing camps
Some of our incredible female and non-binary students from BIMM London were invited to attend two separate writing and experience day camps at Sony Music Publishing and Abbey Road.
Sony Music Publishing’s camp was aimed specifically at female and non-binary producers and songwriters giving our students an incredible opportunity to put their heads together and create some smash hits.
Ariane De Beaufort along with Ebba Bergstrom, Clara-Sofia Deregnaucourt, Reta Daoud and Emily Thomsen were invited to Abbey Road’s International Women’s Day camp called Equalise. Equalise is a day designed to inspire and empower young women and non-binary people aspiring to a career in music. Equalise was born out of the studios’ ambition to encourage more women to consider engineering and production as a credible career path.
We spoke to Ariane De Beaufort, who added:
“I had such a great time at the Abbey Road Equalise event as well, I attended all the sessions and got so much out of it. It was such an amazing experience and opportunity, first of all to visit Abbey Road and be able to soak up the musical energy in Studio 3. The programme was filled with panel sessions, where all-women industry professionals shared loads of their personal and professional stories, insights and advice. I got the chance to chat with many of them after each session, which was really empowering and helped me build my network – which is exactly what I’m continuously trying to do, in and outside of BIMM.”
Since attending the Abbey Road’s Equalise event, Ariane has been selected to attend Jordan Rakei’s mentoring programme.
