Jamie Skinner Full-Time at LD Communications
Music Business Degree graduate/student Jamie Skinner completed an internship earlier this year at LD Communications, one of UK’s leading entertainment PR firms – and has since been asked to stay on as a full-time member of the team!
The BIMM London alumnus found the opportunity through our Work Based Learning program and turned the experience to his advantage by proving himself as a valuable addition to the company, whose offices are based in the heart of Soho, London.
Jamie told us more about his work at the company.
“I work in PR at LD Communications. At LD, I work with a range of clients including The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains (most successful V&A music exhibition to date), Fast & Furious Live, as well as artist campaigns in conjunction with Universal Music Group and Sony Music UK. I have also worked press on live events with Vision Nine, Live Nation, AEG Presents.
It’s a very challenging yet incredibly rewarding job to have.
There is no ‘average day’ in PR. LD is a great company to work for as the clients, whilst music-focussed, vary in their day-to-day practices, so no two days are ever the same! Every day starts out by reading the papers, going through online articles and then sending coverage and anything relevant over to clients. After that though, it changes depending on what’s going on.
Working at LD has been pivotal in shaping me into the person I am today within the industry. I have been fortunate enough to work with some incredible people across a wide range of PR accounts and am excited to see what the future will bring.”
