Megan Wyn, Silver Gore and Florence Road Perform at DIY Magazine’s Class of 2026

19 December, 2025

BIMM Music Institute students and alumni were out in force at DIY Magazine’s much-anticipated Class of 2026 launch party, continuing our exciting collaboration with one of the UK’s most influential music publications.

DIY Magazine’s annual Class of issue is a definitive showcase of artists tipped to break through in the year ahead, shining a spotlight on some of the most exciting new talent emerging across the music scene.

This year’s launch event returned to Colours Hoxton, bringing together emerging artists, industry professionals and BIMM students gaining real-world work experience in a live music setting.

The evening opened with a live performance from Megan Wyn, a BIMM Manchester alumna, who set the tone with an uplifting indie pop set and kicked off the night on a high.

She was followed by Silver Gore, whose experimental, folk-leaning sound brought a more atmospheric shift to the evening, before Florence Road closed the night as headliners. Recently featured on the front cover of DIY Magazine’s Class of 2026 issue, Florence Road’s performance marked a major moment for the band, who have only recently begun performing live outside of Ireland.

Alongside the on-stage talent, BIMM students were also involved behind the scenes, supporting the event across a range of roles including production, event coordination, technical support and artist operations. These hands-on experiences allowed students to put their learning into practice and build confidence in a live industry setting.

Our ongoing collaboration with DIY Magazine continues to create meaningful opportunities for BIMM students — both on stage and behind the scenes — offering valuable experience as they prepare for careers across performance, management, media and the wider music industry.
