BIMM Music Institute Manchester opened its doors in 2013, bringing its industry-focused approach to a city renowned for shaping generations of groundbreaking artists. BIMM Music Institute Manchester operates across Great Marlborough Street, Bank Chambers and Merchant Exchange, each offering specialist facilities to support different areas of study. Across all sites, students benefit from multiple study and reading areas, communal social spaces, and a careers hub that supports entrepreneurial projects and professional development.

Students also have access to state-of-the-art loanable equipment, including microphones, guitars, keyboards, cameras, mobile recording rigs and DJ equipment. All production spaces run industry-standard software such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro and Ableton Live.

Great Marlborough Street is a modern 12,000 sq ft facility featuring high-quality teaching spaces and a spacious student common room designed for collaboration and independent study.

Located just moments from some of Manchester’s largest and most iconic music venues, the building places students directly within the city’s live music ecosystem.

The Bank Chambers site is home to two industry-standard recording studios, alongside professional control rooms and edit suites. 

These professional recording studios in Manchester are designed to support music production, recording and post-production at a professional standard, giving students hands-on experience in environments that mirror industry workflows. 

Merchant Exchange is a purpose-built facility featuring:

  • Our flagship recording studio and production space
  • Three iMac labs with custom-built furniture
  • Rehearsal and edit rooms
  • A dedicated reception area

The building is designed to support both creative and technical development, providing students with flexible, professional spaces for recording, production and collaboration.
