Tim Bradshaw
Head of School - BIMM Music Institute Birmingham
Tim Bradshaw is a multi-instrumentalist, teacher and songwriter, now serving as Head of School at BIMM Music Institute Birmingham. He trained at the Royal College of Music in orchestration and has been part of BIMM since 2016, teaching live performance, music production and songwriting in Manchester before moving into campus leadership.
Alongside his academic career, Tim has built an extensive professional portfolio as a touring and recording musician. He has performed globally across a wide range of settings, from orchestras to major rock and pop stages, including Madison Square Garden, the Hollywood Bowl, Red Rocks, Wembley Arena, Earls Court and Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage.
He has been a longstanding member of David Gray’s backing band since the mid-1990s and has also worked with artists including John Mayer, contributing to the Grammy-winning track “Belief” from Where The Light Is. His wider collaborations include performances with Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy, as well as work with MIA, Afro Celt Sound System, Dog’s Eye View, Eddi Reader, Ronan Keating and Boyzone.
As Head of School, Tim brings this depth of industry experience into the academic environment, with a focus on maintaining high standards of teaching, strengthening the student experience, and ensuring graduates are equipped for careers in the creative industries.
