James Scarlett

Event Management *

James teaches Event Management at BIMM Music Institute Bristol. Following a high-flying but unfulfilling business career in London, James started 2000trees Festival in 2007 with the aim of “organising his perfect music festival”.

The festival has subsequently grown from an initial 1,000 capacity to its current level of 4,000, and sells out well in advance year on year. 2000trees has performed strongly at the UK Festival Awards, being consistently shortlisted for the ‘Best Small Festival’ award, and winning the ‘Grass Roots Festival’ award in 2010. In 2013, James started the Bristol-based ArcTanGent Festival – a 5,000 capacity music event.

He also manages a number of artists, including former BIMM band The Cadbury Sisters, and recent BBC Radio 1 playlisted act, Jim Lockey and the Solemn Sun.
