Winner announced for the Wretch 32 × BMC Scholarship
BIMM is thrilled to announce Mars Tshoko as the recipient of the Wretch 32 × Black Music Coalition Scholarship, a partnership designed to support and empower the next generation of Black British music talent.
Mars will now begin her undergraduate journey at BIMM London, supported by the full three years of tuition provided by the scholarship.
Wretch 32 and the BMC team recently came into BIMM London to congratulate Mars, offering their support and guidance.
Speaking about the opportunity, Mars shared their excitement:
“I can’t wait to dive in, learn from industry mentors, build real experience, and really push myself as both an artist and creative strategist.”
Wretch 32 offered guidance and mentorship, sharing valuable advice with Mars and other aspiring creatives.
“Match your talent with drive, stay humble, and enjoy the ride,” he said, highlighting the balance of hard work and passion needed to succeed in the music industry.
The Wretch 32 × BMC Scholarship was launched in collaboration with BIMM and the Black Music Coalition to address inequalities in higher music education by removing financial barriers and creating structured pathways into the industry. Alongside full tuition, the scholarship offers access to mentorship, placements, and support from the BMC’s extensive network.
The BMC members shared insights into the importance of this collaboration, emphasising that initiatives like this are vital in building a more equitable and representative future for the music industry. For Mars, the award represents not only financial support but also a chance to grow, connect, and carve out a place in the industry.
All of us at BIMM are wishing Mars luck on her journey.
