New Masters course launches in Manchester and Birmingham

BIMM Institute Birmingham and Manchester are the latest colleges to add a brand-new postgraduate course to their already varied range of innovative courses.

The MA Popular Music Practice course will be available to study from September 2021, offering graduates the opportunity to take their education to the next level.

This new Masters course – which is fully accredited by BIMM Institute – is innovative in its design and offers four specialist pathways: entrepreneurship, performance, production, and composition. This makes it suitable for candidates specialising in a wide range of fields.

So, whichever direction you want to take your career in music – whether it’s into education, research, performance or another area of the creative industries – our postgraduate degree will allow you the freedom and the opportunity to pursue many areas of interest, including:

  • Popular Musicology
  • Performance and Composition as Research
  • Music Industry and Entrepreneurship Research
  • Research in the Application of Technologies to Practice

What can you expect from the MA course?

Your contact time will be split between one-to-ones with a specialist from in your field, lectures and seminars. In your seminars, you will study alongside students from different disciplines and study in workshops with students from your own field. You will also be encouraged to collaborate with both your peers at BIMM Institute and external stakeholders.
