BIMM Dublin alumni Fontaines D.C. announce new album Dopamine Chamber and 2027 shows
BIMM Dublin alumni Fontaines D.C. have announced their fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber, alongside some of the biggest headline shows of their career.
They will release Dopamine Chamber on 16 October via XL Recordings. The album follows 2024’s Romance, which reached number two in the UK and has since been certified platinum.
The new era kicked off with lead single ‘Marianne’, a darker, synth-led track that sees the band continue to push their sound beyond the post-punk roots of their earlier records.
The full 11-track album also includes ‘Six Shot Morning’ and ‘Happy For You’, which the band debuted live over the summer, as well as ‘Where Is Gone?’, a collaboration with ROSALÍA and the first Fontaines D.C. track to feature a guest vocalist.
The new album arrives during another huge period for the band. After headlining Reading & Leeds this summer and selling out their 2026 UK arena tour, Fontaines D.C. will step up to even bigger stages in 2027.
They’ll begin the summer with two nights at Ireland’s legendary Slane Castle on 26 and 27 June, becoming only the third Irish act to headline the venue after Thin Lizzy and U2.
The band will then head across the UK for a series of outdoor and stadium shows, joined by Little Simz and Viagra Boys:

- 4 July – Heaton Park, Manchester
- 6 July – Glasgow Green, Glasgow

The story of Fontaines D.C. goes right back to BIMM Dublin, where Grian Chatten, Carlos O’Connell, Conor Curley, Conor Deegan, and Tom Coll met while studying and formed the band.
One of their early appearances came at BIMM Dublin’s Live & Lyrical gig in October 2014. Over the following years, they became regulars on the Dublin live circuit and performed at a number of BIMM events, eventually headlining BIMM Live at The Tivoli Theatre in 2017.
During their time as students, BIMM also helped the band secure performances at Liverpool Sound City and Craw Festival in Berlin, among their first international shows.
Since finishing their studies at BIMM Dublin in 2017, Fontaines D.C. have released four acclaimed albums, earned multiple Grammy nominations, and won Best International Group at the BRIT Awards in both 2023 and 2025.
Their relationship with BIMM has continued along the way. In 2022, BIMM Dublin launched the Fontaines D.C. Scholarship, giving an incoming student financial support towards their studies and the opportunity to follow in the band’s footsteps.
With Dopamine Chamber arriving next month and their biggest headline shows yet lined up for 2027, the next chapter for Fontaines D.C. is looking bright.
