BIMM Students Take Centre Stage at BRITs and DIY Fringe Showcase in Manchester

25 March, 2026

BIMM students were at the heart of the UK music industry during BRITs week, taking part in both the BRIT Awards 2026 and a sold-out BIMM x DIY BRITs showcase in Manchester. As part of the official BRITs Fringe programme, the event highlighted how BIMM connects students with real industry opportunities, on stage and behind the scenes.

Industry experience in action

At the BRIT Awards, students gained hands-on experience across live production, press and digital roles. Working at one of the UK’s most high-profile music events gave them the chance to build professional networks, develop practical skills, and experience the industry first-hand.

This direct access to live environments is a key part of the BIMM experience, helping students move from education into industry with confidence.

The BIMM x DIY BRITs showcase at YES Pink Room brought together students and alumni for a sold-out night of live music. As part of the wider BRITs Fringe programme, the event provided a platform for emerging artists to perform during a key moment in the music calendar.

BIMM alumni and students, including Zoë’s Brothers, Grrace, Cutscene and headliner Megan Wyn, delivered standout performances throughout the night. Playing to a sold-out BRITs Fringe crowd, it was a powerful moment to see BIMM talent take centre stage.

The showcase demonstrated the strength of our creative community, giving students the opportunity to perform, collaborate and connect with new audiences.

From classroom to career

In the space of a week, BIMM students were both behind the scenes at the BRITs and performing live in Manchester – getting a real feel for how the industry works from every angle. It’s all part of the BIMM approach to career-ready learning, giving students the skills, connections and hands-on experience to take the next step.
