BIMM Alumna Chloe Paige Impresses X Factor Judges.

2 September, 2015

On Sunday, August 30 the UK watched as BIMM Brighton Alumna Chloe Paige auditioned for X Factor. It was emotional viewing and she impressed all four judges with her performance of Crying for No Reason by Katy B, and flew through to the next round. Katy B tweeted, “Chloe! That was amazing! You have such a beautiful voice! Thank you so much for picking my song!”

Jake Shillingford who taught Chloe songwriting for three years remembers her well.

“Chloe was an excellent student. She studied for a diploma before completing a degree in vocals at BIMM Brighton. Last year she, like many of our alumni, continued to be involved with BIMM Brighton, assisting with vocals in our Ensemble Performance classes. Her Mum was always trying to put her forward for X Factor and finally she has got her way!”

He added: “We at BIMM are immensely proud of her and if anyone can shoulder the pressure and madness of an X Factor competition, she can. Chloe has a very honest personality, an amazing voice and the heart of a lion. We wish her every success.”

Vaseema Hamilton, Principal BIMM said “The BIMM Brighton team were thrilled but not surprised to see Chloe’s stunning audition on X Factor.  Whilst with us she was a dedicated and shining talent and we wish her all the best as her career takes off. She will follow in the footsteps of our other Alumni – George Ezra and James Bay.”

And the judges clearly agree. New judge and BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show presenter, Nick Grimshaw said, “Chloe that was perfect. I felt like you performed that with everything in your body. I could listen to you all day.”

Whilst Rita Ora said, “I didn’t want you to stop singing. You sound absolutely pure as water you are so gorgeous and I’m so happy you sang for me.”

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini said, “I don’t know how somebody of your age finds something so deep like that. You literally sang from you soul. You are amazing.”

Simon Cowell said, “I wasn’t expecting that Chloe. I was think ‘oh god you’re going to be really squeaky and annoying’ and actually out came that voice. You’re really really good.” We whole-heartedly agree Simon. Bring on the next round!
