Peta Devlin

Associate Lecturer, Songwriting, Music Production and Performance

Peta grew up in a musical family singing four-part harmonies and it’s no surprise that her upbringing led to a multi-faceted career as a musician, producer and sound engineer.

As a musician, Peta’s played on every kind of stage there is – from a street corner in Hamburg to a stadium in St. Petersburg. After arriving in Hamburg in the late 1980s, she spent the next decade performing and recording with the renowned pop band Die Braut haut ins Auge. Since the band disbanded in 2000, Peta has played everything from punk to country and collaborated with a variety of bands including Bela B, one of Germany’s most (in)famous stars.

As a studio and live sound engineer and producer, Peta has worked with some of the best bands to come out of Hamburg such as Die Sterne, Blumfeld, Tocotronic and Die Goldenen Zitronen. Peta also owns a small studio where she produces radio plays, and writes and records music for radio, theatre and film.
