Alex Peverett
Lecturer, Music Production *
Alex teaches Music Production at BIMM Music Institute Brighton. He is an electronic & computer music composer and multi-disciplinary artist, whose work has been published and performed internationally. His creative works explore the fields of electronic & computer music, video art, multi-media installation, procedural art, and computer graphics. With expertise in audio and visual synthesis and their relationships, his studio practice combines many techniques and technologies from the past century of electronic art and continues their underlying philosophies.
He composes commercially for site-specific artworks, mobile applications, and video games, provides creative and technical direction to digital art organisations, and is developing his own analogue audio-visual synthesis hardware whilst recording for labels such as Skam (UK).
Alex runs his own independent recording company specialising in experimental electronic music and has extensive experience in teaching across a wide range of institutions.
He has toured throughout Europe and Japan and has presented work at festivals and galleries including; Lovebytes, ISEA, Sonar, The National Review of Live Arts, All Tomorrows Parties, New York’s Museum of the Moving Image, Tate Modern, Centre Pompidou, Sendai Mediatheque and Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art.
