John E Vistic

Live Performance Workshop Lecturer

John is a singer-songwriter and lead singer and guitarist for the band, The John E Vistic Experience. In 2005, they came away with an American Independent Music Award for ‘Best Bluegrass and Country Song’ for their track ‘Riverboat Blues’. In 2009 they won the ‘RockStar 09’ competition, which saw them become the first band to be confirmed for Glastonbury 2010, playing the Pilton Party with Dizzy Rascal and Florence and the Machine.

They also won recording time at Peter Gabriel’s famous Real World Studios. They’ve received airplay on BBC Radio (Tom Robinson), BBC Bristol and Triple R in Australia, and their shows are known for their raucous rock and roll and unrelenting live performance. Over the years they’ve gigged with The Alabama 3, The Jim Jones Revue and MC Rut, and have played many UK festivals such as Shambala, The Secret Garden Party, Trowbridge and the Bulldog Bash. Outside of the band, John is creative director, lyricist and co-writer of the multimedia rock concept album and performance ‘The Russian Winter’, which saw its first three shows sell out at Bristol's Colston Hall in 2014.
