Charlie Beddoes

Senior Lecturer, Music Performance

Charlie Beddoes is a bass player and vocalist with over 20 years of experience in the music industry. She was a founding member, songwriter and bass player for 90's rock band Rub Ultra, signed to Virgin Records and Sony Music Publishing. She then went on to co-front tech-rock band No Santa, who were signed to BMG Publishing.

Charlie then found herself in demand as a session bass player and backing vocalist and toured extensively with many artists, including Emiliana Torrini, Trash Palace (with guest vocalist Brian Molko), Rolan Bolan, Martin Grech, Gary Lucas and Michael J Sheehy And The Hired Mourners.

Charlie has since gained an MA in Popular Music Practice and published a music-based memoir. She has taught at BIMM since 2009 across a wide range of subjects while continuing to work on her own music projects. She now also plays bass for Lodestar with three members of 90s rap-rockers Senser.
