The Black Music Coalition x Wretch 32 Scholarship

We are delighted to announce that we have partnered with The Black Music Coalition (BMC) and Wretch 32 for a brand-new scholarship.

The Black Music Coalition (BMC) is a Black-led organisation that was founded in June 2020 following #TheShowMustBePaused. Created to address systemic anti-Black racism within the UK music industry, BMC advocates for racial equality, equity, and the empowerment of Black executives, artists and communities. The organisation comprises an executive and a broader committee of Black professionals connected to the UK music industry.

Wretch32, born Jermaine Scott Sinclair, is a British rapper, songwriter and creative visionary known for his compelling lyricism and distinctive style. Hailing from Tottenham, London, he has emerged as a prominent figure in the UK music scene, leaving an indelible mark on British hip-hop.

The Black Music Coalition X Wretch 32 & BIMM Music Institute Scholarship will provide financial support for our Black students in the UK, with the aim of closing the attainment gap.

Wretch32

Music has always served as a lifeline to me and opened up a world that I may not have come to know otherwise. Understanding that power and finding ways to pass that to future generations is crucial to legacy building and purpose. It is needed from all of us to sustain the art; a part of building is making sure it’s left in safe hands.”
