Music for Screen, Film and Games is a two-week intensive course that teaches aspiring creatives to design, compose, and record professional-quality music and sound for film, television, and games.

Students will gain hands-on experience in narrative composition, sound design, Foley recording, and synchronisation, while also learning industry-standard workflows.

Composing Thematic Music for Visual Media

You will learn to create evocative and thematic music that complements the emotional tone and narrative structure of film, television, and interactive media. Through hands-on exercises, you’ll explore compositional techniques like writing motifs and harmonic textures to enhance storytelling.

Mastering Synchronisation Techniques

Gain the skills to synchronise music seamlessly with visual cues using Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), ensuring that your compositions enhance the on-screen action and emotional impact while adhering to professional industry standards.

Recording and Designing Foley Sounds

Explore the art of Foley recording, capturing and manipulating custom sounds to add realism and depth to your projects. You’ll learn to craft layered soundscapes that elevate the atmosphere of a scene, making it feel more immersive and authentic.

Advanced Audio Production Techniques

Develop your skills in advanced DAW techniques, including automation, spatial effects, and dynamic mixing. You will learn how to balance and shape your music, dialogue, and sound effects to create a polished, cohesive final mix.

Navigating Professional Workflows

Understand the essential workflows required in the audio production industry, including how to interpret briefs, meet deadlines, and deliver your projects according to industry expectations. You’ll simulate real-world scenarios to gain practical experience.

Entry requirements

Minimum Age: 18 at the start of the course.

This course is open enrolment and there are no entry requirements.

In order to get the most out of the course, you should be able to both speak and write in English to a reasonable standard.

Please be aware that we have a limited number of places available for each course intake and operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
