BIMM UCAS Clearing 2020

UCAS Clearing Opens on Monday 6th July

What is Clearing?

Clearing is how universities and colleges fill any places they still have on their courses.

From 6th July, you can apply for a course using Clearing if you’re not already holding an offer from a university or college, and the course still has places.

You can use Clearing if:

  • You’re applying after 30th June
  • You didn’t receive any offers
  • You didn’t meet the conditions of your offers
  • You’ve declined your firm place using the ‘decline my place’ button in Track
How it works

This year, BIMM Clearing is available until 20th September (6pm). If you already have your exam results, but no offers, you can use Clearing now. If you’ve had conditional offers, but maybe didn’t achieve the grades you needed for your initial UCAS choices, you can use Clearing from around 8am on results day (Thursday 13th August) when universities and colleges place a list of their vacancies on the UCAS website.

Unconditional offers? How to use Clearing

Only unconditional offers can be made through Clearing. For BIMM, this means we have to confirm that you’ve met any necessary academic requirements and have been successful in an assessment/interview before we’ll offer you one.

No offers? How to use Clearing

If you’ve already received your exam results, but haven’t had any offers to date, you can use Clearing from July. Here are the steps you must follow:

2. Obtain Clearing Number

3. Call BIMM on 01273 840 346 to provide your Clearing and ID Numbers and to check on places available

4. BIMM will advise if you can put the college down as a choice on UCAS Track and if so, will book you an assessment/interview

5. Submit UCAS application. We will then check your academic qualifications

6. Pass an interview or an assessment – this can be in person, by phone or by submitting a demo
