BIMM Institute Berlin Facilities

Study at the epicentre of Europe’s music scene at BIMM Institute Berlin. You’ll thrive in the city’s creative, experimental and international vibe and have access to our state-of-the-art facilities at the iconic House of Music.

Because being creative and connecting you to the heart of the industry is what we’re all about, there was nowhere better to set up our brand new home than Berlin’s renowned music hub and hotspot for the city’s creatives.

BIMM Institute Berlin is based within the House of Music, Berlin’s creative hub for musicians, companies and organisations from all areas of the music industry. The House of Music cultivates a creative community that is perfect for networking with companies such as Yamaha, Shure, iZotope and MOD Devices, who also share the hub.

BIMM Institute Berlin’s facilities don’t stop here, though. We are evolving and developing our teaching spaces at the House of Music, with new facilities launching very soon. This includes introducing a second recording studio, another large live performance and lecture space, plus further digital resources and Apple Mac labs. So, watch this space – and come and join us.

Music Business graduate Nicole Deckers is your guide for our House of Music college video tour. Take a look around.

A building steeped in history

House of Music is Berlin’s only dedicated music complex with a total space of 6,000sqm. The three-storey building Berlin’s oldest and largest remaining industrial buildings and is located in the R.A.W. area at the intersection of Berlin’s two most creative districts: Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg.

Originally built in the mid-19th century as a railway premise, it’s recently had a complete renovation. Now, you’ll be studying in a specialist centre for music education and the wider industry. History and innovation merging in one – not a bad place to call your college, right?

We have over 2,000sqm of space spread across two floors with a variety of high-tech equipment. This includes instruments and backline PA from some of the most prestigious brands in music and industry-standard production software and hardware.

All our equipment and software are delivered by the world’s leading musical instrument manufacturers who actively support and endorse us. You’re never far from an Orange amp, Marshall amp or Apple Mac!

Investment in BIMM Institute Berlin doesn’t stop here, though. We have more House of Music facilities launching very soon. We will continue to expand House of Music resources in the coming years, adding a second recording studio, another large live performance and lecture space, plus further digital resources and Apple Mac labs. So, watch this space – and come and join us.

“To see our vision of creating a purpose-built music community hub in the heart of vibrant Berlin become a reality has been hugely rewarding. But better still, it’s been massively rewarding watching our students’ creativity flourish when using the professional new facilities and seeing them become part of the city’s unique music community.”
Anna Marks, College Principal

Connecting you to the city’s creatives

You’ll have the amazing opportunity to network with other members of Berlin’s creative community.

In House of Music, you’ll instantly become part of a unique, electric and inspiring atmosphere. This is partly down to the fact that we share the 70,000m2 space with other prominent music industry companies. These include Music Pool Berlin (Berlin’s leading consultation office for freelance musicians) and a range of music management, consulting, media and events agencies, as well as developers and producers of music equipment.

The BIMM Berlin building itself is a music industry hub with an equipment hire service, music accessories shop and several independent creative music businesses. That’s not all, as BIMM Institute will continue expanding its resources in the coming years, adding a second recording studio, another huge live performance and lecture space as well as further digital resources and Mac labs.

All of these great features give BIMM Berlin students an instant connection to the local creative music community. You’ll become equipped with everything you need to get your music career off the ground.

Not only do I get to experiment with the equipment, but I also take part in all sorts of productions of various genres. This has led me to try production techniques that I wouldn’t necessarily find out about on my own."
