In partnership with BIMM University, the event offered a dynamic mix of panel discussions, networking opportunities, and live performances, all aimed at celebrating and nurturing emerging talent in the UK’s creative industries.
Inspiring panel discussions
The day featured three engaging panels, each exploring pivotal aspects of the creative sector:
Panel 1: Mentors & Talent Development
Hosted by Judith Suckling (MetFilm), this panel included insights from Kiran Sethi (Factory International), William Wolstenholme (BBC Introducing), and Victoria Goodwin (Sharp Futures). Discussions focused on the importance of mentorship, accessibility in the arts, and empowering the next generation of creatives.
“Manchester is a melting pot of creativity, isn’t it? You don’t need to leave the city to fulfil your dream.”
– William Wolstenholme, BBC Introducing
Panel 2: AI Tools as a Creative Collaborator
With Edgar Klusener as host, the panel featured Ausrine Karnulyte (Voice-Swap), Tom Nield (RoEx), and Krishna Stott (SID). The conversation delved into the evolving role of artificial intelligence in creative processes, emphasising collaboration between technology and artists.
“AI isn’t here to replace creativity — it’s here to expand it. We’re learning how to collaborate with tools, not be threatened by them.”
– Krishna Stott, SID
Panel 3: Insights from SXSW 2025
Led by Rebecca Swarray, this panel brought together Phil Goddard (Play XD), Eloise Perrot (MIDAS), Andy Burnham (Mayor of Greater Manchester), and artist OneDa. They shared experiences from SXSW in Austin, Texas, highlighting Manchester’s growing influence on the global creative stage.
Mayor Andy Burnham commended the city’s commitment to supporting its creative community, stating,
