Liam Godwin stars in Yamaha 2021 Silent Piano advert
At BIMM Institute, we strive to provide our students with incredible industry opportunities and work experiences that you won’t find anywhere else. A recent example of this is Liam Godwin, our second-year Vocals student at BIMM Institute London, who landed a starring role in Yamaha’s 2021 Silent Piano Advert Campaign.
Liz Mason, Music Performance Deputy Course Leader at BIMM Institute London, put Liam forward for the campaign. Liam was asked to share some of his previous experience, and things moved quickly. He was offered the job a few days later.
We spoke to Liam about the experience:
“When I saw the job and the number of people who were interested in it, I wondered if it was even worth going for. At that time, it just said: looking for a pianist for an advert; it did not say who the client was. When I eventually found out the client was Yamaha, I got very excited and wanted to impress. Most importantly, I really wanted to land the gig.
“I feel so lucky and honoured they trusted and picked me for this job.”
“As a pianist, doing an advert for Yamaha is a cool job to bag. Getting that call saying I had got the job had to be the best feeling, and it made my day! I had the absolute best time in December with my ‘family for the day’ and all the crew and Yamaha reps on set. They were all just as lovely as can be. I feel so lucky and honoured they trusted and picked me for this job.”
About Liam Godwin

Asides from experience and knowledge in these areas, Liam is also a multi-instrumentalist who plays piano, organ, and drums and is an extremely skilled and experienced conductor. Known for his smooth tone and extended vocal range, Liam is exceptionally versatile and sings in multiple styles and genres, specialising in pop, classical, R&B, and musical theatre.

He’s performed at St Paul’s Cathedral, The Rose Theatre, The Other Palace Theatre, The Gherkin, The Intercontinental Hotel, and Shoreditch Town Hall.
