Kid Massive Signs Student After Masterclass

30 October, 2017

Latvian-born producer and BIMM Manchester student Nicky Miles may have just landed his big break after a chance meeting with Danish house superstar Kid Massive. We welcomed the DJ, AKA Benjamin Pedersen, to BIMM for a highly-anticipated masterclass earlier this year, where he spoke about founding his revered Groove House record label, breaking into the industry and following your dreams. Little did we know that his appearance at BIMM would lead to one of our students, Nicky, having his track appear on the DJ’s “Get Down Talents” EP.

“I knew about Kid Massive before he visited BIMM and I’d set myself a goal to get my music signed to his Get Down Recordings label,” said Nicky. “His label is highly respected in the progressive house, electro house, groove house genres with big names such as Styline, Luca Debonaire, Block & Crown, Kitone, Hybrid Heights, Sted-E, Mr. Sid, Sevag and Kid Massive himself.”

The opportunity led to him collaborating with Russian producers Ayunix & Sneygl in June. Their collaboration resulted in ‘Kamui’, a pulsating track, which has since received widespread support from some of EDM’s biggest names, including DANNIC, Pessto, Vion Konger, Antoine Delvig, Maximals, Rovack, MYKRIS, Petkis, Last 3 Digits.

Following on from this, he has continued producing music for several international dance label and has played in front of crowds all over Europe and the UK. His past achievements include a VIP warm-up set for the one and only David Guetta on his 2014-2015 world tour. Nicky, who is in his in his second year at BIMM, was also named the #196th best trance artist in the world in 2015 by trancepodiium.com.

It’s an incredible story and a testament to Nicky’s talent and hard work. At just 20-years-old, he has achieved in a few short years what most strive to do over a decade, having played shows in Poland, Romania, the UK, Morocco, Poland, Austria and Lithuania. Nicky was recently reunited with one of his heroes in Kid Massive while networking at Amsterdam’s massive ADE festival (Amsterdam Dance Event).

Hard working, talented and dedicated, Nicky has crafted an exceptional career for himself, and with support from a host of superstars, such as EDM legend Martin Garrix, the future looks brighter than ever. Watch this space; we’re expecting great things of Nicky Miles; we’re thrilled to have played a part in his journey and can’t wait to see where he goes from here.
