The Music Moves Europe Talent Awards announced their nominees for their Public Choice Award a few days ago, with BIMM Institute Manchester Alumna Julia Bardo representing her home country of Italy. She will be joining 15 other artists from around Europe in this award that champions and celebrates emerging artists who represent the European sound of today and tomorrow.

Music fans from across Europe will vote to select the winner of the 2021 Public Choice Award. The voting period is running from 18th September 2020 to 7th January 2021 exclusively via the official Music Moves Europe Talent Awards website, with the winner taking home a juicy cash prize of € 5,000. So, make sure you go and show Julia Bardo some support!

Music is one of the most popular forms of art; it’s widely consumed and it’s a vibrant expression of Europe’s cultural diversity. The aim of Music Moves Europe is to support the European music sector and help it to grow and flourish. This particular award helps to contribute to the creativity, diversity and competitiveness of the music sector in Europe.

There is a huge importance to celebrating European talent as the total percentage of music originating from continental Europe is relatively small, compared to that of America. The Music Moves Europe Talent Awards are designed to accelerate the international careers of upcoming European artists.

Bardo signed with Wichita Recordings in 2019; the label that previously represented Bloc Party, The Cribs and a whole host of talents. She graced the BIMM stage at last year’s Great Escape Festival in Brighton and has since released her first EP, Phase, which came out this March.

We’re super proud of Julia and all our alumni’s achievements. Discover all our student success stories and get inspired. You can also check out Julia’s latest project here.
