Erica-Cody shortlisted to represent Ireland at Eurovision 2024

23 January, 2024

Erica-Cody, a BIMM Dublin Vocals graduate, has been shortlisted to represent Ireland at Eurovision 2024. She’s one of six nominees hoping to represent their country at this year’s competition in Malmö, Sweden.

Erica selected her latest track, ‘Love Me Like I Do’, as her Eurovision submission, written at an Irish Women in Harmony writing camp. The Late Late Eurosong Special will take place on Friday 26 January, where six acts will compete for your vote to represent Ireland. The line-up includes Erica Cody, Ailsha, Isabella Kearney, Bambie Thug, Next in Line and JyellowL feat. fellow BIMM graduate, Toshín. Famously, Eurovision is not just about the song but the whole performance. Erica has been rehearsing a dance routine relentlessly and sharing behind-the-scenes footage on her social media.

Erica is from a small seaside town in North Dublin and has been drawn to music since a young age. Since age seven, Erica has been writing her own songs, influenced heavily by 90s RnB heavyweights like Aaliyah and Brandy. In 2017, a hugely well-received collaboration with RTÉ for The RTÉ Concert Orchestra’s presentation called ‘The Story of Hip Hop’, thrust Erica into the national spotlight.

Erica released her debut EP, Leoness, in 2019 and embarked on a nationwide tour, playing concerts and festivals nationwide, including Ireland’s biggest end-of-summer music festival, Electric Picnic.
