Brighton graduates Black Honey No.6 on UK Album Chart

30 March, 2023

Four-piece Brighton graduates Black Honey have reached a very respectable No.6 on the UK Album Chart and No.1 on the UK Independent Album Chart.

In the process of acquiring the No.6 spot, A Fistful of Peaches finished above Elton John, Harry Styles and SZA. Black Honey’s previous highest finish was No.7 with their sophomore album, Written & Directed, back in 2021.

Posting on Instagram, the band said, “Cannot quite believe we are saying this, but A Fistful of Peaches is our second No.1 independent album and our second UK top 10 hit, charting at No.6 in the Official UK Album Charts! Thank you so much to all our BBHC crew for making an indie sleaze dream come true TWICE.”

The band have not long embarked on a full 15-date UK tour which has partially sold out, with the tour finishing at London’s iconic Koko in Camden. Heartworms, The Howlers and Bad Nerves will join them on tour. You can grab a ticket for your city here.

Tutor Andy Maclure added: “Massive congratulations to Black Honey on their second top ten album! To even get to your third record is a big ask for any band, but to do it as an independent artist without a record label is a truly amazing achievement. Ever since seeing Izzy and the band on stage at the Concorde in Brighton (when she was on the BIMM Diploma), it’s been a pleasure to watch them develop into the fantastic live band they are today.”
