BIMM Institute Teams Up With The Great Escape 2022

26 November, 2021

We’re so proud to announce that we are once again Lead Education Partner at The Great Escape 2022 (TGE). The Great Escape is a three-day festival for new music, showcasing over 500 emerging artists from all over the world in 30+ walkable venues across Brighton, including a pop-up site on the beach.

Students from across all eight BIMM Institute colleges get the opportunity to perform at the Official BIMM Institute Showcase and Alternative Escape shows, as well as network with the industry at the TGE conference. Each year, the conference is packed full of insightful panels, topical debates and keynote speeches from leading figures within the music business.

The Great Escape festival is powered by student and alumni volunteers from BIMM Institute. Each year, they gain valuable behind-the-scenes experience in venue management, front of house, box office, and artist liaison, all while building great contacts across the industry.

“We have all missed this important event in the music industry calendar.”

We spoke to Suzi Ireland, BIMM Institute’s Artist Development and Festival Manager, to find out more: “BIMM Institute is very excited to announce that we are once again Lead Education Partner for the Great Escape festival held in Brighton next May,” says Suzi. “We have all missed this important event in the music industry calendar, and we can’t wait to showcase some of our best artists and provide students with invaluable work experience.

“BIMM Institute students will once again help to run the festival by filling key production and marketing roles behind the scenes. Our artists will play various venues around the city as well as getting involved in TGE’s popular street performances.”

The Great Escape Conference 2022
