BIMM students at 2024 BRIT Awards

6 March, 2024

We’re excited to share that we had some of our BIMM London students and graduates perform and work at the 2024 BRIT Awards.

Marking the event’s 44th year of celebrating British and international artistry, the two-hour show was populated with 17 awards, as well as eight performances from some of the biggest names in music: Dua Lipa, RAYE, Rema, and Kylie Minogue, to name a few.

RAYE dominated the night with six wins out of a record-breaking seven nominations. The 26-year-old singer-songwriter won some of the most prestigious awards of the night, including Mastercard Album of the Year.

Her incredibly impressive performance on the night featured orchestral elements and a choir, which included current BIMM student Amelia Smart and graduates Nayana Braithwaite and Promise Kadree. Elsewhere, current first-year production student Tommy Owens worked on setting up the stage and rigging up the PA system, and BIMM London staff member and graduate Alison Ioannou also worked from the red carpet and in the winner’s room doing social media and conducting interviews with award winners for content creation company Something Something.

Nayana Braithwaite, a Vocals graduate of BIMM Music Institute London, commented:

“It was such a surreal experience to be able to share the stage with RAYE on her historic night. She is a beautiful soul, and I have learnt so much from her in such a short space of time. It was truly an honour to sing alongside her.”

Promise Kadree, who also graduated from BIMM Music Institute London Vocals course, added:

“It was a surreal experience to be a part of such a monumental moment in history; it was truly incredible. Onwards and upwards from here.”
