BIMM London partners with Armada Music for exclusive writing camp

14 February, 2024

We’re delighted to announce that BIMM Music Institute London has teamed up with Armada Music for a three-day writing camp for 16 lucky students from our songwriting, production and vocals courses.

Specialising in dance music, the songwriting camp consists of three full days of conceptualising, writing and producing tracks, followed by a visit to Armada Music’s Shoreditch office for a listening and feedback session.

Armada Music is one of the world’s biggest independent dance music labels, managing an ever-growing catalogue of over 40,000 tracks built over twenty-plus years.

Representing artists such as Armin van Buuren, D.O.D, Low Steppa, Tensnake, THEMBA and Yulia Niko, Armada Music amasses more than one billion streams per month, as well as airplay on leading radio stations such as BBC Radio 1, KISS and Capital.

Armada Music offers a global appeal to its growing roster across offices in Amsterdam, London, New York and Laren (NL). The label has its own club, radio studio, multiple production studios, and even a producer platform, Armada University, which offers educational products and opportunities.

Simon Colam, BIMM London’s Head of School, has expressed his excitement about the partnership:

“We are thrilled to be working with Armada Music, the leading independent dance music label, heralding a new opportunity for creative exploration for BIMM Music Institute students. This collaboration is a testament to our shared commitment to fostering talent and innovation within music education supported by the music industry. By joining forces with Armada, we are opening further doors for our students to a world of opportunities applied to real-world creative briefs. We can’t wait to hear the creative outputs from the camp.”

An Armada Music UK spokesperson added:

“We’re excited to work with the students at BIMM London this weekend. These partnerships are hugely beneficial: songwriting camps provide students an opportunity to collaborate, network, broaden and ultimately showcase their abilities. For record labels, camps can act as a window to find and help emerging talent break into the industry. Going through the applications and hearing all of the amazing talent, we can’t wait to see what comes out of the camp!”
