BIMM Institute introduces Talent Match: Sourcing new talent for the creative industries

24 September, 2020

Here at BIMM Institute, we’re serious about employability, which is why we’re launching Talent Match: a job matching service designed to help graduates find paid work in their chosen career.

Talent Match is here to help point you in the right direction and give students vital experience and opportunities that will make all the difference when it comes to starting their career in the music industry. It’s part of our commitment to ensure that our industry connections and opportunities are at the centre of everything we do. Talent Match, available from October 5th, is a recruitment service led by BIMM’s Talent Manager Catriona Lundie-Loggie. Having worked for over 12 years in recruiting into music, media and the arts, her knowledge and experience are the foundation of this new service.

The service aims to place our graduates into paid work and helps employers by providing immediate access to qualified talent – taken from our vast talent pool of over 6,000 students who have studied one of our highly vocational courses. It’s also a great chance for students to gain valuable experience in their field, whilst networking with industry professionals, and allows employers the opportunity to employ the perfect candidate that is eager, passionate and well-equipped for work within the music industry.

Catriona Lundie-Loggie claims: “Right now, young people who are passionate about a career in music need all the support, direction and help we can give, which is why we’re offering a full employability service for our graduating students and alumni.” On top of this, the service also provides CV and interview advice, whilst tailoring an action plan to each student’s needs.

“We’re proud of our strong community of students and graduates” adds Head of Careers & Employability, Mel Thornton. “They are highly motivated and well prepared for professional life, having engaged with work placements, charity volunteering and industry projects throughout their studies.”

The service is open to all employers who can offer paid, entry-level jobs in office support, artist management, events, journalism, social media, PR, copyright, sync, publishing, distribution, royalties, content creation, streaming, digital marketing and any other early careers opportunity.

“I’m delighted that we can be the first education provider to invest in our students’ futures by helping them take their first steps into the world of work.”

– Head of Careers & Employability, Mel Thornton

The BIMM Talent Team will also help recruit for graduate internships, music teaching positions or broader work opportunities in the studio, production, sound engineering or live stream/tech support.
