BIMM Alumnus to Perform at Pride London
BIMM London Creative Musicianship alumnus Andrea Di Giovanni recently made it all the way through to the music round final of the ‘Pride’s Got Talent’ competition 2018. In fact, the ‘dark pop’ artist did so well that he earned himself a performance slot on the Trafalgar Square stage during London’s upcoming Pride festival.
Andrea earned the coveted performance opportunity by first impressing judges in the semi-finals of ‘Pride’s Got Talent’ with his performance of Dua Lipa’s smash hit single ‘New Rules’, before subsequently delivering a winning performance in the finals.
Thanks to his efforts, Andrea will be performing at one of London’s biggest street celebrations alongside other big name performers such as Courtney Act, SuRie and Sophie Ellis-Bextor in London’s iconic Trafalgar Square on July 7th.
“Playing at London’s Pride this year is such an incredible achievement! I feel so blessed, lucky and super excited to get to perform for my community on such a big stage!” Said Di Giovanni.
“It truly means the world to me and I am so thankful to my Pride Family (Ian Massa-Harris, Tom Knight, Micheal Twaits, etc) for believing in me and giving me this opportunity through Pride’s Got Talent.”
Last year, almost a million people were in attendance for the Pride parade, which takes place on a 1.4-mile route down Regent Street, Piccadilly Circus, Pall Mall and Trafalgar Square. And this year, numbers are expected to reach an even higher figure.
Andrea will benefit from reaching a huge audience during his slot, but he’s also enjoyed the competition up until this point.
“The competition itself is so much fun, each round you get to meet other incredible queer artists and you create connections and make real life time friends; there’s a strong sense of community & mutual support which perfectly embodies the spirit of Pride.”
We wish Andrea the very best of luck with the performance. If you’re interested in seeing him in action, you can find full details and stage times here.
