5 Staples of the Birmingham Music Scene
We’re always asked ‘which is the best BIMM city to study in?’ and it’s not an easy question to answer. We have 8 amazing locations each with lots to offer, so the decision can be based on many things; lecturers, lifestyle, your favourite music genre, your career goals or even just how far away you want to live from home.
To try and help with this perennial problem we’re putting together a series of videos called ‘STAPLES’ that show you exactly what to expect from the local music scene in each of our locations.
To kick off, we asked Music Journalist and Brum Radio presenter Danny de Reybekill to show off his city and give us his 5 STAPLES of the Birmingham music scene.
Birmingham has a music culture unique to the UK; feeding off diverse subcultures and genres; it’s a scene that provides limitless inspiration and opportunities for collaboration. For anyone deciding where to study music, Birmingham is a place that will expand your musical horizons.
Add to this the fact that the city was recently ranked fourth best to live in the UK, and you have a compelling argument for why Birmingham could be the perfect place to start your music industry career.
