Tom Morris
Lecturer, Music Production
Tom is a producer, engineer, researcher and occasional electronic musician. He has worked with a wide range of artists, from the experimental band Faust to more recent critical and industry successes such as Algiers, Bloc Party, Fear of Men and Glass Animals. Before moving into production, he worked as an engineer in the UK and internationally with producers and engineers such as Steve Albini, Garth Richardson and Mark Ronson. He was the in-house producer and studio manager for 4AD Records for several years and is a previous recipient of Breakthrough Engineer of the Year at the Music Producers Guild (MPG) Awards. In addition to his BA in Music Technology, he has an MA in Philosophy and is a current PhD candidate at Kingston University’s Centre for Research in Modern European Philosophy. Tom is the Lead Lecturer for the BIMM modules ‘Music Production in Context’ and ‘Answering a Creative Brief’.
